Sara Hawk Barnett, Ph.D. Educator • Researcher • Learner
Thank you for visiting my online teaching portfolio. This website contains writings and artifacts which showcase my vision of teaching and learning in education.
I am a Learning Specialist in Medical Education at Saint Louis University. Prior to working with medical students, I taught pre-service teachers at Saint Louis University. The courses I taught included assessment, school and community partnerships and all levels of math methods. Before working with pre-service teachers, I taught elementary and middle school math in Springfield, Illinois and was a Teacher Instructional Leader for Standards Based Education where I trained teachers how to use standards to improve their teaching and assessment.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University, earned a Master’s degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received a Ph.D. from Saint Louis University. My research interests center around the science of learning and equity for all students, medical education, mathematics education and teacher preparation.
I hope this will give you a glimpse of who I am and what I can bring to your school as a consultant. You can also learn more about me by viewing my Curriculum Vitae.
